the dew Drops story!
Lightening the physical and mental load of parenting. Real, intuitive, support for the whole home that gets it.
kia ora, I’m Jessie!
I come to this work from a background in mental health and suicide prevention advocacy, seeing clearly how essential human-centred, practical support is when life gets hard.
When I became a parent, I believed that I could (“should”) manage, after years of being “good with babies” - turns out, that doesn’t actually prepare you for the reality of postpartum and parenthood, particularly without family or a village around.
I know what it’s like to carry the mental and physical load while trying to make sense of a new normal. To have a busy mind, plenty of advice, and not much actual help - and to find it hard to let others step in without feeling pressure or shame for not having it all together.
I also saw how the lack of a village affected my partner, and how that too, flowed on to our baby. Parenting strain often spreads across households, not just one person - something i’m truly passionate about shifting in this work and world.
Parents need real, practical support that shows up and takes some of the weight - prioritizing safety, always, through all the ages and stages of parenthood.
This work comes from taking what I needed in my biggest moments and turning it into something other parents shouldn’t have to go without - safe, practical support, that truly gets it.
why ‘dew drops’?
The name Dew Drops comes from a childhood nickname given to me by my grandad. I was a big feeler from the start, and “Jessie Dew Drops” became the name that stuck - one that felt right for this work.
Dew Drops exists to offer the kind of support that actually helps when life feels heavy. Support that shows up in homes, reduces the mental and physical load, and responds to what families need in real time — not a fixed idea of what support should look like.
Our work is shaped by lived experience and training in matrescence, maternal mental health peer support, breastfeeding counselling and suicide prevention - but it’s always practical first. Food, laundry, childcare, emotional holding, and steady presence -the everyday work that keeps households functioning.
Because supporting the home is part of supporting parents - and our future generations.
the growth of dew drops.
Dew Drops began by supporting families through pregnancy and the early postpartum period - times when support is most expected, but often still not enough.
Over time, and through the privilege of supporting many families, it became clear that the need didn’t end there. As my understanding of matrescence deepened, so did the awareness that parents need support not just at the beginning, but through many seasons - mentally, emotionally, and physically.
In 2025, Dew Drops expanded to offer tailored, in-home support for parents and families in a wide range of circumstances. Our focus is easing the mental and physical load of parenting, whatever season you’re in, so families can rest, recover, and keep going.
Pregnancy | Postpartum | Loss & Grief | Post-injury or Surgery | Returning to Work - and beyond
